We had a great idea yesterday. Obviously, that idea made a bulb pop over our head. And the idea was to take that bulb and to turn it into a compositing element. But wait, how could we have had this idea before the light bulb came to life? Sometimes you just have to live with the paradoxes that compositing creates.
Anyhow, once we stopped thinking about that paradox, we took the gorgeous Edison light bulb* and shot it from every possible angle. With and without cable, sharp and diffused, close up and far away, bright and dim, with and without smoke and just generally tried to bring some light into a dark situation.
We ended up with over 110 png files which are shot against a black backdrop and are perfect for compositing.
* Ideas by photoshop masters always represent themselves as old Edison bulbs.
